There were 2 LVTs’ (Luxury vinyl planks) used, the first one was a more resilient product, used on the train track, the train being imported from Italy, with rubber wheels.

The challenge was the setting out of the “Curve” and maintaining it, from a looks point of view, we had to lay the pattern and then cut the curve.

The other areas were reasonably trouble free, from an installation point of view

The “herringbone” design was also hassle free, as both products, lend itself to this design.

Various other challenges were power outages for long period of times and working with head lamps to keep time lines in place.

We had a huge storm one night and being a new wing on menlyn, part of the roofing collapsed and a huge amount of water
flooded part of the train track. Being a glue down product, it think out of 150m2 , only 5 planks were replaced.

We had “Fun” excuse the pun, doing the mini golf layout, having to put in 2 thicknesses of artificial grass, the “Fairway” and “Rough”, this was a great success. The islands were also laid in artificial grass, We had to work in relays to keep to time lines and my crews stayed in a lodge nearby, having easy access to the site.
