“Solid” speaks for itself, not highly favourable in Gauteng due to the climate, however, the veneer wood, has in most cases approx a 5mm solid wood top and the balance is board, which is more stable than solid. Every few years, traffic dependent, these products will need to be sanded and resealed to bring out their natural beauty. Neither should be installed where there is a chance of excess water or spillage. Price is also a disadvantage, they are both very pricy compared to the other “Look-a-like” products.
Solid wood is warmer than Ceramic Tiles, but noisy to walk on.
